Sophie Armoza is a professional Oriental dance artist based in the Jerusalem area, Israel. Fluent in both the Egyptian Raqs Sharqi and the various folkloric styles, Sophie has been a featured soloist in many large-scale stage productions including the San Francisco Ethnic Dance festival, the Eilat Festival, and most recently in the Orient Express Show, performing for hundreds of admiring spectators.
Recognized for her superb musicality and passionate theatrical style, Sophie has been wowing audiences with her Turkish Roman (Gypsy) interpretation and her finger cymbals solos. Sophie’s outstanding technique, proficiency in using various accessories such as a veil, double veil and cane and her creative approach to sagat (finger cymbals) made her a sought-after instructor worldwide.
She has been conducting workshops and sagat and rhythm courses for professional dancers and teaching at teacher training courses all over Israel and abroad.
